Layout
In 2016, G Builders revolutionized the panelized construction process by incorporating total stations, which are advanced surveying instruments that use electronic distance measurement technology to measure distances and angles with high accuracy and precision. This allowed them to eliminate the need for traditional layout tools like tape measures and instead rely on the highly accurate measurements provided by the total station.
Once the GC provides grid coordinates inside the building, G Builders uses software to export to the total station and then lays out every corner and wall panel. They laser up all five floors and establish control points for their total station, ensuring that every wall is laid out perfectly according to the design. The use of the total station has allowed G Builders to streamline their process and leverage the accuracy and speed of the technology.
By pioneering the use of total stations in panelized construction, G Builders has been able to improve their efficiency and effectiveness, ultimately leading to higher quality work.
